Van Goff Anderson

Van Goff Anderson, age 84, died February 3, 2001, in San Antonio, Calif. Van was born in Broken Bow, OK, to Straughter Goff and Catherine Dennington Anderson.

He graduated from Chickasha High School, Chickasha, OK, in 1938, and graduated from Cameron College, Lawton, OK, in 1940, where he met his wife, Dorothy Partlow.

Van served in WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving at Sheppard Field and in the South Pacific with the 13 Air Force.

After WWII he was employed by American Petrofina (Panhandle Oil Refinery), Wichita Falls. In 1965, Van became an oil and petrochemical refinery consultant with Universal Oil Products, Des Plaines IL.

Van and Dorothy have traveled and worked in 34 countries and retired to Wichita Falls in 1977.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; sister, Karabel Anderson; son, Jimmy Anderson and wife, Jimmie Joyce; daughters, Vaneda Shields and husband, Larry and Rose McGinty; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service was held Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, TX 78218. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio TX with military honors provided by the United States Air Force.
