Elzanna Barnett
The Verden News
April 13, 1928
Mrs. L. J. Barnett died suddenly Monday morning. She had gone to the J. A. Wood home to do some work, and apparently was feeling well, when she told Mrs. Wood her head hurt and on speaking these words she collapsed upon the floor dead.
Mrs. Elzanna Barnet was born in Indiana, April 1875, where she later married Charles Barnett. To this union was born six children, five girls; Fleta, Flotha, Cleo, Sylvia and Ruth, one son, George. Mr. Barnett and Flotha having preceeded her to the better land.
Mrs. Barnett joined the Methodist church early in life then later united with the Baptist church, living a devoted Christian life, a loving
mother and a kind friend and neighbor.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, with Rev. Mann of Carnegie Officiating, being assisted by Rev. C. W. Taylor. The order of Rebekahs of which Mrs. Barnett was a devoted member then took charge of the services. Mrs. Barnett was initiated into the Verden Rebekah Lodge 279, April 27, 1927 and was made an honorary member January 10, 1927.
The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The many friends extend their sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
