Funeral services for Ralph W. Barker, 67, of Chickasha, were held Friday, November 30, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating and Jimmy Meli assisting.
Ralph W. Barker was born July 11, 1934, in Paducah, Texas, the son of Elmer Barker and Opal Lewelling Barker. He died Tuesday, November 27, 2001 in Oklahoma City.
Buck moved to Casa Grande, Arizona, as a small child with this family where he attended public schools and graduated from Casa Grande High School.
After high school graduation he was employed with John Deere Tractor and later entered the National Guard. After being in the Guard, he entered the U.S. Army where he served active duty for three years and in the reserves for ten.
Buck had lived in San Francisco, California, where he was employed with Western Electric. In 1967, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he was employed with Mountain Bell Telephone. He retired from Mountain Bell in 1986.
Ralph married Lynn Berna on June 4, 1988, in Casa Grande, Arizona. They moved to Chickasha in December 1995, from Glenwood, New Mexico.
Ralph was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his wife Lynn, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and David Scott, of Chickasha, Jona Lyn and John Debtaz, of Angola, Louisiana; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ralph S. and Anna Barker, of El Paso, Texas, Chris Schuknecht, of Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, Scott Schuknecht, of Ventura, California; his father, Elmer Barker, of Chino Valley, Arizona; two sisters, Noreen McBryde of Rim Rock, Arizona and Betty McCarty, of Arizona; six grandchildren, Sean Patrick Barker, Selina Scott, Ellana Walker, Robert Vehock, Ross Debtaz and Shelly Debtaz.
Interment was at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2001, in the Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, National Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
